Peter Swan is a custom landscape architect who grew up in Northern California, and drew his main influences from the beautiful nature that surrounded him throughout his upbringing. He started working in landscaping at an early age; and eventually developed the skills to open his own business in boutique landscape designs that reflect his unmistakable artistic touch as well as the specific requests of each customer. Sometimes, these requests can be very specific; however more times than not they revolve around a few basic concepts that all come together to make a unique landscape design. Below, Peter Swan shares he features he is most commonly asked about.
Water Features Water Features can bring a garden or landscape design to life in ways that most other elements can’t. There is something about the sound of a rushing stream that pleases the ears and whispers to its listeners to relax and take in all that’s around them. Streams, ponds, bird baths, wok pots and other water features are a commonly sought item. Standing Features There are many standing features that can be added to a landscape that can also add some character and tasteful design. Bird feeders, scarecrows and other such items can be designed and decorated to the client’s liking, making them much more versatile and easy to dress every season. Other Elements Some people will liven their garden with a choice of rock to serve as an accent to all the shrubbery and plants. Others will put tiny windmills and chimes to welcome those breezy howls. It’s your lawn, so do what you think is best. |
